Frequently Asked Questions
Q: DO YOU OFFER STUDIO NEWBORN SESSIONS?
A: I pride myself on offering a full-service photography experience to my clients. All of my newborn sessions can be captured in the comfort of your home or my home studio. For sessions in your home - there is no worrying about packing up and traveling with your little one(s) to a studio and potentially forgetting something - I bring the studio experience and convenience to you! I can also capture all of those adorable details in your baby’s nursery as part of your gallery. Nursery not set up yet? No problem! I have captured entire newborn galleries in one room. A simple window or blank wall is all that is needed! My home studio features beautiful natural light, wood and canvas backdrops as well as a linen loveseat for gorgeous family images. With both options, I have a vast assortment of props, wraps and backdrops to customize your session. When you book a newborn session with me, we will customize every detail to bring your vision for your newborn portraits to life.
Q: WILL I RECEIVE DOWNLOAD AND PRINT RIGHTS TO MY IMAGES?
A: The number of images you will receive download and print rights to varies depending on the package selected. Every package will include download and print rights to a specified number of images. Before your session, I provide a short contract outlining the terms of the package selected to ensure we are all on the same page for everything included.
Q: HOW DO I RESERVE MY SESSION DATE?
A: Simply email me at email@example.com or use the contact form found on my website and I can give you more information on this. Typically a $50 deposit and signed contract is required in order to reserve your portrait session on the calendar. The remainder of the package balance is not due until your scheduled session.
Q: DO I HAVE TO ORDER PRINTS THROUGH YOU?
A: I highly recommend ordering prints through my professional vendor, but it is not required. The difference in quality is huge when it comes to ordering through a local printer and a professional lab, so I encourage clients to let me help with prints! Depending on the package selected will determine how many images you receive download and print rights to if you choose to print images yourself.
Q: WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
A: I use full frame Canon cameras (Canon 5D Mark IV and 6D Mark II as my backup) and a combination of Canon and Sigma Art lenses. The most commonly used lenses in my camera bag include a Canon 85mm 1.2 lens, 24 mm 1.4 lens, 50 mm 1.4 lens, 105 mm 2.8 macro lens, among other items. I always carry backup gear in the rare event that anything should occur to one of my cameras or lenses. For newborn sessions, I also bring studio quality lights to ensure perfect lighting. Other equipment includes a studio style newborn posing beanbag and props sourced from premier newborn vendors around the world.
